Caryn Onions is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist trained at the British Association of Psychotherapists (BAP). She is Head of the Therapies and Networks Team at the Mulberry Bush School near Oxford and is completing doctoral research at Exeter University. Caryn has worked for OXPIP since 2001 as a clinician, supervisor and trainer. She consults to other professionals working in the field of child and adolescent mental health and is a member of Pegasus Psychotherapy, Oxford. 10.40: Coffee 11.00: Workshops: 1. Responding therapeutically to the child inside the adolescent: how do we do this in our practice? Caryn Onions (see above) 2. Pride and Prejudice: the emergence of sexual identities in school Lucy Jean Lloyd works as a Counsellor at St. Edward’s School, Oxford, and teaches on counselling courses at the Department of Continuing Education, Oxford University. 3. No entry: working with young people who can't seem to take anything in - emotionally, inter-personally, intellectually.Catherine Burgess has worked in both PCAMHS and CAMHS (outpatient and inpatient) for 13 years and is currently a Child Psychotherapist in Doctoral Training at the Tavistock.   4. Helping young people develop resilience through counselling relationships in school Caroline Crosbie has worked in child and adolescent mental health settings for 30 years and is currently a Primary Mental Health Worker for PCAMHS in Oxford City. 12.30: Lunch (buffet lunch will be provided) 1.30: Workshops: 1. Separating from parents: what helps? what hinders? what happens in counselling? Jim Pye is a psychotherapist. He has just retired from working as a counsellor at Oxford Brookes. He has a small private practice both as therapist and supervisor. 3. First loves: working with romantic relationships as part of adolescent development Laura McDonald is finishing a Masters in Psychodynamic Practice at Oxford University and is a volunteer school counsellor. 4. Acting out in adolescence: uncovering and responding to childhood trauma Silvia Elsner has been a school counsellor and currently works in a university student counselling service. She also teaches a course in psychodynamic counselling at Oxford.  3.00: Coffee 3.15: Plenary: Whatever! Debbie Lee works as a psychotherapist with young people in Oxfordshire.
