For several years the Aleto Foundation has delivered a highly acclaimed Annual Leadership Programme to help and support young people to improve their leadership skills and qualities. As a result, they have achieved their long term personal objectives and have learnt to become innovators, entrenpreneurs and most of all, they are heralded as tomorrow's leaders.
We are now 381 members strong and growing and it's no secret that our members do incredible work!
Most importantly they share our vision of 'Sharing Success With Tomorrow's Leaders'.
They are ALETO - A LEgacy for TOmorrow!
The Aleto Leadership Programme began in 2011, with 2019 marking our 8th summer programme. We also held our first Winter programme in January 2017.
Our 2019 Leadership Programme begins with a Meet Your Mentor evening hosted by Microsoft on 26th June 2019 and the 3.5 day programme takes place from 23rd to 26th July 2019 at BT. It will provide young people aged 18-25 with an exciting, powerful and life-changing summer of immersive workshops, mentoring and networking designed to provide elements and ingredients that go into shaping leadership success. The programme offers a sample of and/or access to the type of resources that enable leaders to hone in on their leadership skills to be successful, such as:-
- Role models to be inspired by: Delegates are split into groups of 10 and assigned one/two mentors and one/two buddies.
- Keynote speakers (influential individuals) throughout the duration of the programme: Over the years speakers have included;
Adrian Joseph - No 1 most influential BAME tech leader in the UK and Head of artificial intelligence and member of European Innovation Board, EY financial services.
Chuka Umunna - Member of Parliament (MP) for Streatham since 2010
Claud Williams - Member of Aleto since 2011, Aleto's Chief Ambassador, an award-winning serial entrepreneur, creative and the founder of Dream Nation
Sir Damon Buffini - Chair of the National Theatre, formerly governor of the Wellcome Trust and head of the private equity company Permira.

Overview: The Aleto Foundation is a social mobility charity which is focused on developing the leadership skills of black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) young people who have high potential but not the career prospects to match.
Through our flagship leadership programme we deliver immersive and informative experiences that offers these young people the corporate exposure, confidence and ignition needed to start their journey to the top.
Our vision: A society that reflects the diverse leadership potential and quality found in UK Black and Minority Ethnic Communities.
Our mission: To bridge the gap between high potential BAME students, progressive employers and successful careers.
How: We achieve our mission by providing access to immersive leadership programmes, mentoring and an alumni network which unlocks and nurtures leadership potential amongst young people and prepares them to enter and thrive in careers within their chosen fields.
Who should apply: High-potential young leaders age 18-25 years old, preparing to take on increasing levels of responsibility and challenge for future leadership opportunities. High-impact young people with a proven track record of success and some leadership experience.
