Event Description:
We’re hosting our annual ball and bridal gown giveaway for Active Duty spouses, fiancés and significant others! This is an opportunity to save hundreds of dollars that you would typically spend on a gown for the ball, by coming in and selecting a FREE gown from a wide range of new and gently used donations. These donated gowns and accessories come from local Gown and Bridal Salons and community partners from all over Southern California. There will also be an expo area with local vendors, entertainment, and grand prizes! The patio will open with a live DJ and food and drinks available for purchase.
FAQs
Q: How do I get a gown and what are the ID requirements?
A: To receive a FREE Ball Gown, you must present your valid Dependent Military ID. If you are not a dependent, you will need to bring the Active Duty Service Member, who will be accompanying you to the Ball, to the event and they must show their Active Duty Military ID and you must show a valid picture ID (driver’s license or state ID) at check in to receive a gown. You must register before the event on Eventbrite and bring your electronic or printed ticket to the event to receive a gown. You must check in at the event between 6pm and 7:30pm to be receive a time slot to select a gown.
A: To receive a FREE Wedding Gown, you must be Active Duty Military or engaged to an Active Duty Military Service Member. Proof of engagement or vow renewal ceremony is REQUIRED -- NO EXCEPTIONS! (Proof may be a save the date card, invitation, church/reception hall confirmation, anything that proves you are having a marriage ceremony.) You must register before the event on Eventbrite and bring your electronic or printed ticket to the event to receive a gown. You must check in at the event between 6pm and 7:30pm to be receive a time slot to select a gown.
Q: Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
A: No. The name on the registration must match the ID of the attendee receiving a gown. If you are unable to attend the event, please go to Eventbrite and request a "refund." This will allow others to take advantage of the free event.
Q: Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
A: You must present either an electronic or printed ticket in order to be checked in at the event and receive a gown.
Q: Do I need to be present to receive a dress?
A: Yes. Anyone getting a dress, must be present to receive.
Q: Who is allowed to participate?
A: The event is open to ALL branches and ranks. Guests of authorized military attendees are welcome and can enjoy the free expo and entertainment.
Q: Will there be childcare?
A: No. There will not be childcare on site. If kids are present, please bring someone to watch them as children will not be allowed in the gown rooms.
Q: Are men allowed at the event?
A: Yes! . Men are welcome to join us. but will not be allowed in the Ball or Bridal gown changing rooms but they are welcome to attend the expo.
Q: Can I still attend the event if I don't need a gown?
A: Yes! All authorized military patrons with ID and their guests are invited to visit our Women's Expo for freebies, enjoy a live DJ and demos, and authorized patrons can enter-to-win grand prizes.
