Monday 14th October marks the start of Malnutrition Awareness Week 2019.
We all know that eating and drinking enough is essential to good health, well being and quality of life. But enjoyment of food and drink or the ability to eat and drink well can deteriorate as we get older. In many cases, the reasons for this could be avoided or addressed with timely support.
In Greater Manchester, we are working towards a cultural change in our care systems and wider society to bust the myth that weight loss is a natural part of ageing and make good nutrition and hydration a fundamental part of our care and support for older people.
At this event you will learn about the innovative and collaborative work taking place in Greater Manchester to promote and enable good nutrition and hydration in later life.
The event will involve a mixture of informative talks, interactive workshops and a Q&A with some leaders in the field.
We know you will also be interested to network with other attendees on the day and believe there is real value in collaboration between the charity sector, health, social care, commissioners and other colleagues on this issue. We will create opportunities for these important conversations during the day.
This will be an exciting day, not to be missed!
