Genesee Land Trust is excited to present an evening with Rue Mapp, Founder and CEO of Outdoor Afro, on Thursday, September 19th. We invite you to come hear Ms. Mapp’s inspirational story and vision for the future and invite others to attend for this exciting event.
Outdoor Afro is the nation’s leading, cutting edge network that celebrates and inspires African American connections and leadership in nature. They help people take better care of themselves (their health), their communities, and our planet.
The program begins at 5:30 PM on the 19th at the Edgerton Recreation Center Stardust Ballroom (41 Backus Street) with networking and vendors from Rochester organizations that are committed to getting everyone outdoors and active through walking, cycling, health and wellness, and nature exploration. At 6:30 PM doors open and the evening’s program will begin featuring Ms. Mapp’s presentation.
Genesee Land Trust is the local land trust in the greater Rochester area dedicated to protecting natural lands to improve the quality of life by preserving wildlife habitat, protecting local farms and food, and creating connections to nature. Genesee Land Trust has preserved over 5,500 acres of land and created 16 nature preserves open to the public across the region.
