Join us for a combined Biology, Neurophotonics Center and NSF NRT UtB: Neurophotonics Fall Seminar event!
On Monday, September 16, 2019, Donald Arnold, Professor of Biological Sciences and Biomedical Engineering, will lead a discussion on "Redistribution of Synapses following Associative Memory Formation in Zebrafish". This lunch seminar will be held at the Boston University Photonics Center, 8 Saint Mary's Street, Room 906, Boston, MA 02215.
Check in will start at noon and the speaker will start at 12:20 PM.
Donald will discuss the recent work from his laboratory where they directly visualized synapse change in the pallium of larval zebrafish that formed associative memories as a result of classical conditioning. The group uses light sheet microscopy to generate 3-dimensional maps of synapses labeled with recombinant antibody-like probes known as FingRs. He will also discuss new work developing recombinant, light-activated probes that can erase or modify synapses, and be used to manipulate synaptic engrams.
Registration is required to ensure a lunch will be ordered for you.
