An unscrupulous historian of science is traveling through time and stealing credit for exciting inventions and scientific discoveries. The time police are baffled, and every day the history of a scientific discovery as we know it is forever altered. It’s a mystery that can only be solved with some archival detective work!
Will you save science or be trapped in time forever? There’s only one way to find out! Team up with friends and family to solve a series of mind-bending puzzles and have fun learning about the work of librarians and archivists. Afterward, explore our museum, talk with our staff, and enjoy light refreshments.
Registration for this event is encouraged but not required. The Escape the Archives game will run every half hour between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for groups of up to eight people. Sign-ups are first come, first served and will be available at the check-in table when you arrive.
Bringing children or just want to try an easier version of the puzzles? We are offering a junior version of the game for ages 8 and up, which will also run every half hour between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
This event is part of Archives Month Philly, an annual celebration of archives, special collections libraries, and cultural institutions. For a full calendar of events please visit archivesmonthphilly.com.
