Astrophotography weekend The Society will be holding a State-Wide Astronomy/Astrophotography Weekend on the 20-22 of October 2017. The venue is the Orana Girl Guide Camp at Roaches Beach 20 minutes from Hobart as per the following link: https://www.guidestas.org.au/GG/Campsites/Orana/GG/Campsites/OranaCamp.aspx?hkey=43af4fe7-7f2d-4780-98b9-dbf730ecccd6 We have booked the entire site which can accommodate 87 people in bunks, However to make it more comfortable we will only accommodate the first 60 registrations. It is a magnificent site for all facets of astronomy. Additionally, Roaches Beach is 3 minutes’ walk and will be a winner with photographers taking sunrise or Milky Way shots. We hope to hold a few lectures/workshops during the day. Plus, with enough registrations, we are looking to get a commercial cook to do Friday and Saturday Night Roast Dinner. More details to follow.
