At this month’s assembly we will be discussing inclusion and exclusion. Inclusion is an essential part of what Sunday Assembly values. We do in fact welcome all who welcome all. People all around us find themselves excluded from their communities. When these people are also homeless, their lives are challenging and uncertain. Mad Housers is devoted to supporting the homeless and providing them with a foundation from which to find their way back to safety and inclusion. This month’s speaker will be Nick Hess who has been a leader and main force behind Mad Housers for many years. Mad Housers is a non-profit organization that works to build small shelters around Atlanta for the homeless to shield themselves from the weather and store their belongings safely. AssembliesAlongside our main speaker, assemblies are lively events with thoughtful musings on the theme, live music from our band, members sharing their experiences, and interaction with fellow assemblers! The assembly lasts around 75 minutes. Assemblies, and the events around them, are open to the public and free to attend! What To BringBring yourself and bring a friend! Also, this month we'll be collecting keychain flashlights to donate to Mad Housers. It's a big day when a client gets keys to their new hut. Share your favorite dish with dozens of others and enjoy what others have made! (Tell us what you're bringing later in the comments.) If you aren't a cook, feel free to bring something store-bought or make a donation instead. Everyone is welcome regardless. Accommodations and LocationWe'll be meeting at First Existentialist Congregation at 470 Candler Park Drive. Parking is plentiful along the street. The venue is wheelchair accessible via a ramp.
