Kosir’s Rapid Rafts was Wisconsin’s first professional whitewater rafting outfitter with operations on both the “Roaring Rapids” section of the Peshtigo River and the mighty “Piers Gorge” section of the Menominee River. These are the most exciting and challenging whitewater rafting trips in Northern Wisconsin. This will be a car camping trip, so all of the comforts are welcome. We are planning to funyak the whitewater segment of the Peshtigo River on Saturday morning and tube the lazy river segment that afternoon. Our exact schedule is TBD based on the water levels and weather. Although all skill levels are welcome, it is recommended that you have some form of paddling experience. You will be provided with all of the necessary safety equipment and instructed by experienced river guides. If you have not kayaked whitewater before, this will be a great opportunity to try something new and exciting!!! The campsite number will be posted prior to the start of the event. The campground offers firewood, hot showers and a bar/restaurant on site. We can plan a potluck dinner for Friday, then either prepare our own meals or eat at the bar on site. They have a pretty awesome menu. Saturday morning, we will funyak the whitewater section of the Peshtigo River. We may move into bigger rafts if water levels allow. This is an exciting, professionally guided trip that I have done multiple times. It is exciting for all skill levels and will definitely hook you on the sport of whitewater rafting. Funyaks are individual rafts, which is why some paddling experience is required. After rafting, we can grab lunch then head out on a tubing adventure down the lazy river segment of the lower Peshtigo. Stand up paddle boards may also be available. You also have the option to stay back, hang out around the campfire or visit some of the local trails for a hike. Cost: $60includes group camping Friday-Sunday, Funyak rental, safety equipment, a guided trip along the whitewater segment and tubing on the lower Peshtigo.
