Synopsis:
Amazon debuted Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, co-produced by Paramount Television and Skydance Television, on August 31st on Amazon Prime Video. The series is a reinvention with a modern sensibility of the unexpected Tom Clancy hero. It centers on Jack Ryan, an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. The series follows the titular character as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale. The one-hour, eight-episode dramatic series stars John Krasinski (A Quiet Place, 13 Hours) as Jack Ryan, as well as Wendell Pierce (The Wire) as James Greer and Abbie Cornish (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) as Cathy Mueller. It is executive produced by Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Graham Roland (Fringe, Prison Break), who created the series for television and serve as showrunners, Krasinski, Academy Award nominated director Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) who also directed the pilot and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. Executive producing the series with Bay at Platinum Dunes are Andrew Form (A Quiet Place, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Brad Fuller (A Quiet Place, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.) Additionally, Daniel Sackheim, (The Americans), Mace Neufeld (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.) and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg(Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Star Trek Beyond) and Marcy Ross (Grace and Frankie, Altered Carbon) also executive produce the series with Lindsey Springer and Allyson Seeger serving as a co-executive producers.
PATRICIA RIGGEN is a filmmaker who no matter the genre, scope or medium manages to showcase the humanity behind each character in a story. After a slew of successful films, Patricia recently ventured into directing for television with equal success. Her upcoming work can be seen in the action-packed Amazon series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan starring John Krasinski, where she directed three of the eight episodes of the first season, and the pilot episode of the upcoming FOX legal drama Proven Innocent which will premiere mid-season.
Patricia was born in Mexico and began her career as a writer for television documentaries and executive director for the Mexican Film Institute. She earned a master's degree in Directing at Columbia University. Her first short film, La Milpa, received 20 international awards including the Student Academy Award. Her documentary film, Family Portrait, won the Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival '05.
Patricia directed and produced her first full-length feature, Under the Same Moon, which premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and was quickly acquired for worldwide distribution by Fox Searchlight and The Weinstein Company. It opened to weekend record numbers for a Spanish language film.
Patricia then directed Lionsgate/Pantelion's Girl in Progress, a coming-of-age comedy and the musical Lemonade Mouth for the Disney Channel, which received a DGA nomination and garnered 12.5 million viewers in its first two airings.
In 2015 Patricia released The 33, the story of the 33 Chilean miners stuck in a mine for 69 days starring Antonio Banderas and Juliette Binoche.
Patricia most recently directed the hit film Miracles from Heaven starring Jennifer Garner. The film made over $73 million at the worldwide box office.
CARLTON CUSE
Working variously as a creator, writer, producer and director, Carlton Cuse is best known for “Lost” and is one of the most successful and prolific showrunners in television. Along with Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan his most recent credits include: “Bates Motel” (A&E), “The Strain (FX), and “Colony” (USA).
Born in Mexico City, Cuse grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and Orange County, California. He attended Harvard University, graduating with a degree in American History.
Cuse started his career in television first as a writer on the Michael Mann series “Crime Story,” and then as co-creator and executive producer of the critically acclaimed Fox series "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." He went on to create and executive produce the highly rated CBS show "Nash Bridges," starring Don Johnson and Cheech Marin, which ran for six seasons and 121 episodes, cementing his status as a series creator and showrunner.
In 2004, Cuse teamed with Damon Lindelof as showrunner, writer, and executive producer for all six seasons of “Lost” on ABC, winning many awards along the way. While overseeing “Lost”, Cuse also pioneered the development of the first transmedia content made in conjunction with a television series.
In feature films, Cuse wrote the screenplay for “San Andreas” starring Dwayne Johnson, which was Warner Bros. highest grossing film of 2015. He followed up by co-writing the new Warner Bros. and Dwayne Johnson’s film, “Rampage”.
Cuse has received 10 Emmy Nominations for his work and has won 2 Emmys: for Best Drama Series and for Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Media.
Among his other honors, Cuse has won a Golden Globe, a Peabody Award, a Producers Guild Award, 3 AFI Awards, The Jules Verne Award, 4 Saturn Awards, The Saturn Legacy Award, a Writers Guild Award, the Variety Creative Leadership Award and the People’s Choice Award, and was named to Time Magazine’s annual List of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
