We are excited to introduce you to the NJ Department of Children and Families Division of Family and Community Partnership and invite you to their Inaugual Conference!
The purpose of the Inaugural Family and Community Partnerships Conference is to provide a platform for FCP staff to have meaningful interactions with federal, state and county government employees as well as community service providers and families. Through this platform, the participants of the conference will get to network amongst their peers but also discuss programming, best practices, and service delivery that best meets the needs of individuals, families, and communities in New Jersey. By engaging community-based agencies, relevant stakeholders and community members in networking and educational opportunities, FCP aims to create an environment where participants can increase their knowledge and develop collaborations that will contribute to positive outcomes for families across the state and ultimately prevent incidents of child maltreatment.
You will hear from our DCF Commissioner, Christine Beyer, and ACF Director, Joyce Thomas, as well as have the opportunity to meet our new DCF Assistant Commissioner, Niurca Louis. In addition, Holly Low, Manager of Strategic Outreach from the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development will be presenting “Paid Sick Time is Now the Law in New Jersey”. The new earned sick leave law became effective in October. This workshop will give an overview of how paid sick time can help parents and other caregivers as they try to balance work and caregiving responsibilities.
You will also participate in attending two informative workshops of your choice. Please select TWO workshops from the list during registration.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided for all attendees.
