VA Loma Linda in collaboration with the Veterans Resource Center at University of California in Riverside will hold our annual Mental Health Summit on Tuesday, August 27th, 2019. It will be held at University of California in Riverside.
This year’s theme will be “Shoulder to Shoulder: Supporting Our Military Community.” Our goal is to come together as a community to inform, engage and improve Mental Health access to our Veterans.
This summit is part of the VA's ongoing efforts to raise awareness about suicide among Veterans and to help increase access to mental health services. We look forward to this opportunity for Veterans, family members and caregivers to learn about the mental health services available, and to encourage them to actively engage in services they feel would be helpful to them.
We will have guest speakers, a Veterans panel, and various breakout sessions.
Continental breakfast will be provided.
Learn more about the following topics during our breakout sessions at the Summit. You will be able to attend any of the following seminars:
--PTSD & Moral Injury
--Invisible Wounds (how to help Veterans with Substance abuse and depression)
--Homelessness (how to help Veterans who are homeless)
--Supporting Veterans (What is Peer Support? Supporting Veterans in crisis)
