Take your seats for the 2019 Genée International Ballet Competition in Toronto, and witness the talents of the ballet stars of tomorrow.
Be part of the passion, pride and prestige of the Royal Academy of Dance’s flagship event, one of the most influential ballet competitions in the world. It attracts the finest young dancers trained in the RAD syllabus from around the globe, bringing them together in one spectacular performance at the Genée.
Following five days of coaching, join us at the semi-finals to watch each candidate perform and see who is selected to go through to the final, to be held at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on 29 August.
Candidates will be assessed on a non-rehearsed classical class on Day 1 on 26 August, and Dancer’s Own (Variation 1) and their chosen Classical Repertoire variation (Variation 2) on Day 2 on 27 August.

Important information:
Seating at the Betty Oliphant Theatre is unassigned and will be occupied on a first come, first served basis. You must present confirmation of your ticket at point of entry. Tickets must either be printed or shown on a mobile device, they cannot be sent by post. One person per ticket is permitted, tickets cannot be shared. Doors to the auditorium will open at approximately 10am.
In the interest of safety and for the comfort of all patrons and candidates, latecomers may not enter the auditorium or be seated unless there is a suitable break. Patrons leaving the auditorium during the competition or returning late after intermission may not be readmitted or may be accommodated in an alternate viewing location.
