El cambio climático es uno de los más grandes desafíos para el planeta, la sociedad y las empresas. El último informe del Grupo Intergubernamental de Expertos sobre el Cambio Climático IPCC indica que nos estamos desviando de los objetivos del Acuerdo de París y que es necesario reducir las emisiones urgente y drásticamente. La amenaza global es también una oportunidad para crear un modelo de crecimiento más sostenible, a través de una transición justa.

Durante la COP24, Conferencia sobre el Cambio Climático de las Naciones Unidas, entre el 3 y 14 de diciembre en Katowice, Polonia, las naciones del mundo se reunirán para impulsar los objetivos y ambiciones del Acuerdo de París y aprobar las pautas para su implementación, teniendo en cuenta los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). Pero, ¿Qué pasa después? ¿Cuáles son las implicaciones para España, específicamente para el sector empresarial y sus áreas de influencia? ¿Cómo implementar acciones climáticas urgentes, ambiciosas, pero también justas?

En España, el gobierno acaba de proponer una nueva Ley de Cambio Climático y Transición Energética, que pretende vetar la venta de coches de diésel y gasolina, crear un sistema eléctrico 100% renovable, establecer zonas de bajas emisiones en municipios con más de 50.000 habitantes y otras medidas para los próximos años.

Jornada "COP24 Katowice: The Day After"

Evento oficialmente avalado por la COP24

 En este contexto de cambio y continuando una tradición que comenzó con la COP21 en París, SUST4IN organiza otra jornada “The Day After” el 18 de diciembre, inmediatamente después de la COP24, reuniendo, una vez más en Madrid, expertos y líderes en acciones climáticas para hablar sobre:

• Los resultados de la COP24,
• La nueva Ley de Cambio Climático y Transición Energética de España,
• El nuevo Plan Nacional Integrado de Energía y Clima,

Climate change is the biggest challenge for the planet, society and companies. The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) report indicates that we are deviating from the goals set in the Paris Agreement and that is necessary to urgently and drastically reduce emissions. The global threat is also an opportunity to join efforts, to create a more sustainable growth model, through a just transition.

During this year's United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP24), which will take place between 3 and 14 December in Katowice, Poland, the nations of the world will gather to push forward the goals and ambitions of the Paris Agreement and approve the guidelines for its implementation, taking into consideration the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). But what happens afterwards? What are the implications for Spain, namely its business sector and its areas of influence? How to implement urgent, ambitious but also just climate actions?

In Spain, the government has just proposed a new law for Climate Change and Energy Transition, which aims to ban the sales of diesel and gasoline cars, create a renewable electric system, establish low carbon zones in cities with more than 50,000 people, and many other initiatives for the next years.

In this context and continuing a tradition started after COP21 in Paris, SUST4IN organizes another “The Day After” Conference on 18 December, immediately after the COP24, bringing together, once again in Madrid, experts and leaders in climate action to discuss:

• The new Integrated National Plan of Climate and Energy,
