LSU Professor of Architecture Michael Desmond
Join LSU Professor of Architecture Michael Desmond as he presents the story of LSU’s architectural past and future.
Michael Desmond is an LSU grad who went on to attend Harvard Graduate School of Design and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received his PhD in history, theory, and criticism in architecture. His research focuses on the role of architecture in society, using urban history, cultural mythology, and belief systems as frames for evaluation of architectural forms. He received a Campus Heritage Grant from the Getty Foundation in Los Angeles to conduct an inventory and analysis of the historic LSU campus a few years ago. In his talk, Desmond will share thoughtful insights as well as curious discoveries.
