We'll present and debate about a proposal to solve housing needs with La Serreta, Living Commonly and additional speakers yet to be confirmed. Nick Chapman will speak about the La Serreta, a new-build co-housing project in Cardedeu (north Barcelona). The project, which is part of the Sostre Civic cooperative and led by future building users, plans to build 39 new flats and shared living spaces by early 2020. The aim is to offer an affordable and sustainable housing alternative to private ownership or renting, whilst also developing a stronger community through sharing resources, friendship and collectivedecision making.Nick and his partner are members of Sostre Civic and future users of the La Serreta.http://www.sostrecivic.coop/projectes/la-serreta-cardedeu Living Commonly will also present its proposal that consists of constructing a community that manages communal housing and financing it through a real estate agency.
