Investigative comedian Adam Conover will deliver an evening of laughs during a thought-provoking spring performance on the Hanover College campus. Conover, host of truTV’s hit show “Adam Ruins Everything,” will appear at 7 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019, as part of the Hanover Enrichment Series.
Conover’s popularity has soared through his insightful work on “Adam Ruins Everything.” The program dispels society’s most common misconceptions about everyday goods and services. The show, now in its third season, also reveals untold and hidden facts about topics ranging from vacations, housing and lawn care to food expiration dates, the American Revolution and even Mount Rushmore.
Along with his national television work, Conover performs as a standup comedian around Los Angeles and hosts “Fresh Out!,” a stand-up show that features the best of both heavy-hitting and up-and-coming comics from across the country. He also lends his voice to a number of recurring characters on the Netflix original series, “Bojack Horseman.”
Conover began work as a sketch comedy writer and cast member at CollegeHumor in 2012. In addition to writing CollegeHumor Originals such as “Mitt Romney Style,” he appeared in videos for the “Hardly Working” series and helped create content for the website’s YouTube channel. He also created an online series that would eventually become “Adam Ruins Everything.” The first nationally televised episode of the series aired on truTV in 2015.
Prior to joining CollegeHumor, Conover was an instructor and performer at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. He previously wrote, directed and performed in more than 200 sketches as a member of the comedy group, Olde English, and became noteworthy for the feature film, “The Exquisite Corpse Project.”
