Jordan Metzl, MD – Program Creator, The New York City Wellness Summit, Sports Medicine Physician, Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Jordan Metzl is a sports medicine physician at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City with offices in Stamford, CT and White Plains, New York. In addition to his award-winning sports medicine practice, he is the author of five best-selling books on the interface of medicine and fitness and the creator of the IronStrength workout and IronStrength Community Fitness program.
Philip Levy, PhD – Founder and President, PHL Consulting Group
Dr. Levy is President and Owner of PHL HP Consulting Group, Inc., where he works with business owners and management teams to help them develop more effective and efficient styles of leadership. With a focus on teaching client executives the skills necessary to inspire others and differentiate themselves from their competition, his programs also cover bringing out creativity and passion in employees and how to energize the workforce across all departments across a company.
Ashley Landay – Breast Cancer Survivor, Marathon Finisher
Ashley was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer at 34 years old. While she was going through chemotherapy, she was also running with friends on the weekends, and found it to be incredibly healing during treatment. Soon after, she signed up to run the NYC Marathon with Fred’s Team, which she successfully completed in 2017.
Nir Barzilai, MD – Director of the Institute for Aging Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biology of Human Aging Research
Dr. Barzilai discovered the first “longevity gene” in humans. His research established that the gene variant that leads to high HDL, or “good cholesterol,” is linked to healthy aging and extreme longevity. In addition to his “longevity gene” research, Dr. Barzilai studies key mechanisms involved in the biology of aging, including how nutrients and genetics influence lifespan. His goal as a scientist is to help people live healthier, not to live longer.
Polly de Mille, RN, CSCS – Director, Tisch Performance Center, Hospital for Special Surgery
Polly is an Exercise Physiologist at Hospital for Special Surgery, where she oversees the Tisch Performance Center. In her clinical capacity, she runs metabolic testing program and oversees the motion analysis and training programs at the athlete performance center.
Matthew Futterman – Deputy Sports Editor, The New York Times, Author: Running to the Edge
Matt is the Deputy Sports Editor for the New York Times. He was previously the senior special writer for sports with The Wall Street Journal and a writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Star-Ledger of New Jersey, where he was a part of the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News in 2005. He’s the author of Running to the Edge: A Band of Misfits and the Guru Who Unlocked the Secrets of Speed, which chronicles the story of Bob Larsen, America’s greatest running coach (June 2019; Knopf Doubleday).
Glenn Hartrick – First Athlete to Finish a Marathon as an Able-Bodied and then a Handcycle Athlete
Glenn is an avid triathlete who was featured on the cover of Runners World magazine in 2012 and was in a cycling accident in 2014 leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. This set him on a quest to handcycle marathons where he competed in the New York City Marathon just over a year after his accident. He has since completed the Ironman World Championships 2018 and later that year was the first person to ever finish the NYC Marathon as a runner, handcyclist and pushrim athlete.
Mary Christ Anderson – Deputy Editor, Shape Magazine
Mary is the Deputy Editor for SHAPE magazine, where she oversees the front-of-book, beauty, and fitness sections. Prior to serving as Deputy Editor, Anderson was the Deputy Editor at Fitness, a position she held since 2010, having joined Meredith in 2008 as Fitness Director. Prior to joining Fitness, she was a Senior Fitness Editor for Self magazine.
Ana Krieger, MD – Cornell Center for Sleep Medicine
Dr. Krieger is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Departments of Medicine, Neurology and Genetic Medicine. She is a board certified specialist in Sleep Medicine by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Medical Director of the Weill Cornell Center for Sleep Medicine. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Krieger has been actively involved in patient care, training of sleep specialists, sleep disorders education and research.
Jeffrey Rossman, PhD – Life Management Director, Canyon Ranch Spa, Lenox, MA
Dr. Rossman is the Director of Life Management at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, author of The Mind-Body-Mood Solution and specialist in stress management, overcoming depression, hypnosis, biofeedback, meditation, marriage and family consultations, and creating lifestyle changes.
