Hello everyone,
Flynn’s Walk was started in 2018 following the incredibly sad loss of Dr Flynn Hargreaves, a University of Melbourne graduate. Flynn died by suicide while living and working as a Vet in the UK. The walk was started to honour his memory, bring together the community to encourage meaningful conversations and spread awareness of the mental health issues faced by veterinary professionals.
We will be walking on Sunday May 19 at 10:30, leaving from the Williamstown Tennis Club and following the foreshore trail for a 10km circuit, finishing back at the Tennis Club (5km walk to a turn around point, 5km back).
Last year over 400 people attended the walk and showed their support for suicide prevention and mental health awareness for veterinary professionals.
Please bring your dog, your kids or even a friend - all are welcome. Crazy dress, costumes and bright colours are encouraged.
There is plenty of free parking available and the Williamstown train station is close by - only a few minutes walk.
We hope you can join us so we can walk it out and talk out it together.
Thanks,
Flynn's Walk Crew
