The BAME in Psychiatry & Psychology event aims to combine open floor, panel discussions with informative talks and presentations delivered by experts to provide aspiring psychiatrists and psychologists with the opportunity to network, and acquire the knowledge, skills and guidance needed to pursue a career in the field.
GOALS:

To build and establish a network of BAME students in psychiatry, psychology and medicine; assistant psychologists and wellbeing experts; and chartered psychiatrists and psychologists.

To provide aspiring psychiatrists and psychologists with the knowledge, skills, and guidance needed to pursue a career in the field.

To enlighten attendees on race equity within the mental health system via open floor, panel discussions.
EVENT SCHEDULE:
The event is to be divided into two main intervals. The first interval includes three open floor, panel discussions on race equity within psychiatry and psychology. Panelists include; PhD candidates, mental health professionals, psychologists and psychiatrists.
The second interval includes a series of talks on ‘Accessing Careers in Psychiatry & Psychology’ delivered by psychiatrists, psychologists, and PhD candidates. The event will conclude with a Q & A session.
