The Miami Beach Botanical Garden hosts our landscape architect Raymond Jungles for a conversation and photo documentary about Jungles’ long collaboration with his mentor, Brazilian landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx. Jungles will highlight the work and influences of Burle Marx and the current featured exhibit he designed for the New York Botanical Garden. Roystoneas, Copernicias and a large Attalea serve a backdrop for a custom concrete wall inspired on Burle Marx’s mural for Banco Safra in Sao Paulo, Brasil. A bed of colorful Coleus ‘El Brighto’ with accents of Vriesea imperialis ‘Malbec’ put together this moment animated by the sound of water. Most of the plants were shipped from Florida as part of a carefully orchestrated operation to keep the opening on schedule.
