Graduate Student Orientation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Over 1,500 incoming students from across the university will join together for a day full of grad-specific information, resources, and fun. The day will include a procession from the Main Quad to Rockefeller Chapel, a Welcome Convocation in Rockefeller Chapel featuring remarks from distinguished speakers, lunch on the Midway, an Information Fair in Ida Noyes Hall, and a graduate student social. Hosted by UChicagoGRAD.

Graduate Student Orientation Program 2019
- Opening Procession (11:30AM): incoming graduate students meet on Main Quad for bagpipe procession to Rockefeller Chapel
- Welcome Convocation (Noon): 2019 graduate cohort welcomed and celebrated in Rockefeller Chapel
- Lunch (1:00-2:00PM): tented picnic, music, and mingling on the Midway Plaisance
- Featured speakers include: President Robert J. Zimmer, Vice Provost Daniel Abebe, English Professor Deborah Nelson, UChicagoGRAD Executive Director Brooke Noonan, and Graduate Council Co-President Justin Douglas
- Information Fair (1:00-3:30PM): representatives from 50+ campus offices gather to showcase resources and answer questions in Ida Noyes Hall
- Graduate Student Social (3:00-5:00PM): toast to the year ahead with fellow grad students on the Midway
