Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is a FREE emergency training program to empower our community to prepare for and overcome the effects of any disaster that can disrupt our daily lives.
Learn basic skills that can mean the difference between being a victim or a survivor in the next emergency and allow you to contribute in a meaningiful way to your community.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a home preparedness class. The major focus is on preparation to help your neighborhood respond to a disaster through post-disaster CERT operations. Our goal is for trainees to become members of their local CERT team or, if their neighborhood as yet has no team, to help recruit future team members and to volunteer with teams in nearby neighborhoods.
To receive a Certificate of Completion, you must attend all classes and the Hands-on drill. Arrangements can be made to make-up classes.
The following CERT modules are from 9 a.m to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted:
-
CERT Introduction; Fire Suppression/Utilities Shutoff/Hazardous Awareness (Sat. Sept. 28, 2019)
-
Disaster Medical 1 & 2 (Sun. Sept. 29, 2019)
-
Light Search & Rescue; CERT Organization (Sat. Oct. 12, 2019)
-

IMPORTANT: When you register, please make sure you select 1 of EACH ticket for every person you are registering. When you check out, you should have 3 tickets, one for each weekend of the training and one for the drill.
NOTE: The Eventbrite registration processs requires you to input your basic information for each ticket. Apologies for this inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.
If you are registering more than one person, please submit a unique order for each individual! It is very important that we have unique information for each participant, even if you live in the same household.
If you are making up a missed class from a previous CERT training, please select a ticket for the weekend you need to make up. Send an email to CERT@ci.richmond.ca.us noting which day/CERT module you will be attending.
Prior to the class start date, registrants will receive more information to help make the CERT training experience positive and energizing.
A minimum of fifteen (15) participants per class day is needed to conduct the CERT Academy. Maximum class size is forty (40) participants per day.
Looking forward to your dedicated participation.
