Thames Valley Reporting Excellence (TREx) presents its second annual Learning from Excellence (LfE) conference at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH).
This year the focus of the TREx conference will be on moving from reporting to learning by challenging the status quo.
We are delighted to announce the headline speakers:

Roy Lilley, the inspirational health policy analyst, writer, broadcaster and commentator on the National Health Service and social issues, and the founder of The Academy of Fab stuff https://fabnhsstuff.net. Roy will be take us through his talk on “Going back to BASICS” and also host a Game Changer event following TREx 2 in the evening with Professor Joe Harrison, Chief Executive of MKUH.

Dr Chris Turner, consultant and founder of Civility Saves Lives https://www.civilitysaveslives.com will ask us to focus on the importance of civility in the workplace and how it can change patient outcomes for the better.

Dr Dan Jones, Psychologist from the University of Reading has done research on the psychological aspects of reporting and learning from excellence and will ask the question: “Why can’t we all just be more positive?”.

Dan Hodgkiss and Julie Romano from Walsall NHS Healthcare Trust have used the principles of Appreciative Inquiry to improve patient safety in their hospital over the past two years with excellent results and will take us through this in their workshop on “Right Cause Analysis and using Appreciative Inquiry to improve patient safety”.
As well as all of this, attendees can look forward to hearing from teams from across the region about their work and progress in the field of Learning from Excellence.
The event is for health care colleagues from the Thames Valley region that are involved in LfE. It is kindly being funded by Milton Keynes University Hopsital, whose own GREATix team will be presenting their great work at the event.

TREx 2 will be followed by the Fab Academy's Game Changer event between 1730 - 2000 hrs hosted by Roy Lilley with special guest Joe Harrison, Chief Executive of MKUH.
