We'd like to invite you to our NYC Friends of Clearwater monthly gathering! We hope you can join us at 239 Thompson Street on Friday, October 20th starting at 6:30pm. Our speaker this month will be Alex Beauchamp, Northeast Regional Director of Food and Water Watch. Alex will share with us information about the “OFF Fossil Fuels Campaign”, and the “Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future Act” introduced by House Representative Tulsi Gabbard. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn about important ways we can fight climate change. In the “open mike” portion of the evening, we will feature music, poetry, and whatever other creativity you would like to share with us! So folks, please bring your instruments, your voices, and your friends. And don’t worry if your feel your musical efforts aren't "professional" - we love to hear from everybody! The main thing is always to sing along and have a good time in the Clearwater tradition! The evening also includes a potluck dinner, and we're always eager to see what kind of food selections people bring. Whether you love to prepare your favorite recipes, or you'd rather just bring something from a salad bar, this is your opportunity to share something delicious with us. A main course, veggies, juice or seltzer to drink are especially welcome! Please let's make an effort to be more sustainable by bringing own utensils and reusable cups and bowls! But if you can't, whatever you need will be there. Our monthly gatherings take place at Judson Memorial Church, an organization which shares our vision of social and environmental justice, and activism through the arts. The location is 239 Thompson Street, just south of Washington Square. It's in the basement, so please ring the bell and we'll buzz you in. All are welcome. We're looking forward to seeing you!
