The Silkroad Innovation Hub presents a special event shedding light on Tajikistan’s ambitious bet on artificial intelligence to leapfrog its economic growth. The first nation in Central Asia to adopt a national AI strategy, Tajikistan’s burgeoning AI industry has encompassed widespread education in machine learning as well as launch of AI software exports.
The event will feature a discussion around a case study recently published by the Stanford Graduate School of Business focused on the journey of Azizjon Azimi — a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and GSB (MBA’21) alum. Post-GSB, Azimi has launched zypl.ai — a pre-Series A fintech pioneering synthetic credit scoring for financial inclusion — and founded Tajikistan’s Artificial Intelligence Council.
The discussion will include remarks from Professor Gloria Lee of Stanford GSB around the story behind the case. In addition, the event will feature a presentation on the concept of ‘digital decolonization’ by David Halpert, one of the most successful venture investors in emerging markets globally and an early angel investor in zypl.ai.
Please register in advance to attend the event — spots are limited!
